Sciences de la vie (8)
Sciences exactes et appliquées (12)
Sciences humaines et sociales (15)

The aim of the SAFE project is to provide a total of 60 fellowships distributed between the two tracks as well as between doctoral and postdoctoral candidates. The exact number and allocation of fellowships will be determined by the selection committee and will also depend on the duration of the fellowships awarded.

SAFE fellowships are awarded for a minimum of 12 months up to 24 months. Fellowships must end no later than August 2027.

This year, only postdoctoral candidates will be considered by ULB for submission to the SAFE program.

Applications must be submitted by the host institution. As a host institution, ULB can only submit one application for this program.

To identify the most suitable candidate for consideration by ULB for submission to the SAFE program, the ULB Solidarity Fund committee will preselect the individual who could submit a SAFE application via ULB. Therefore, all applications for the SAFE program will first be reviewed through the selection process of the ULB Solidarity Fund. Researchers wishing to apply to the SAFE program must directly apply to the ULB Solidarity Fund for Researchers at Risk: https://www.ulb.be/en/solidarity-fund before December 15 for preselection. The selected candidate will then submit a full proposal through ULB by January 20, 2025.

Please note that the eligibility criteria for the ULB Solidarity Fund differ from those of the SAFE program (see below).
