Here is an overview of the support measures for candidates applying to European research funding for the year 2022:

- Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF)

Granting of maximum one-year funding to Marie Skłodowska-Curie candidates who were not selected by the European Commission, but who have obtained the "Seal of Excellence".

- European Research Council Grants (ERC)
Coverage of buy-outs  ("suppléances") with a maximum of 60 hours for ERC candidates.
Granting of a bridge contract for candidates to ERC Starting and ERC Consolidator grants who no longer have a research contract.
Coverage of consultancy, proofreading or translation costs (max. 3,000 EUR).
Granting of a 50,000 EUR or 60,000 EUR envelope to unsuccessful candidates who have passed the first stage of the evaluation (2nd stage for ERC synergy).

- Preparation of a European collaborative project (e.g. MSCA-Doctoral Networks, Clusters, EIC, Co-funded programs, Erasmus+, EuropeAid)
Coverage of buy-outs ("suppléances") with a maximum of 30 to 60 hours depending on the partner or coordinator status.
Coverage of consultancy fees up to 3,000 EUR or 25,000 EUR depending on the partner or coordinator status .
Coverage of proofreading and translation costs (max. 8,000 EUR).
Coverage of costs to hire a team member without a permanent contract (maximum 1.5 person-months in total).
Coverage of meeting organization costs (up to 500 EUR or 25,000 EUR depending on the partner or coordinator status).
Coverage of a 4th PhD year in the framework of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Innovative Training Networks (MSCA-ITN) or Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN).

Calls from the European Commission are recurrent. The important support offered by the French Community (Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles) opens new perspectives for our research teams, allowing to efficiently support their efforts. Our Liaison Office/Cellule Europe (ulb-europe@ulb.be) is at your disposal to consider the European funding opportunities available to you as well as to assist on the preparation of projects.
