Intergroup conflict; intercultural relations; social justice perception

Abstract : Among the factors that influence relations between groups, or between individuals from different cultural backgrounds, we are interested in symbolic and identity-related processes on the one hand, and in the social structure of the relations as it is perceived by the groups. Identity and structural variables actually meet and interact with each other producing actions and claims that are rooted in social justice perceptions. When individuals decide to act on behalf of a group they are guided by both identity-related strategies and social distributive strategies.
