Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT)

Abstract : While people are living longer the quality of life of the elderly is becoming an increased concern. To remain longer healthy will have positive impacts at individual level but also on the Society in general. At the same time, human/animal interactions have become an important part of the lives of many people with positive impact on physical, psychological and social wellness. The current project will study the affiliation bonds between humans and dogs and evaluate the contribution of human/animal interactions on the wellness and health among the institutionalized elderly in all its dimensions.
