JUNO experiment: contribution to the DAQ system and preparation of the data analysis

Abstract : Neutrino physics is one of the key challenges of our understanding of nature, it is today a very active research area. The Jiangmen Underground Neutrino observatory (JUNO), located in China, is a multipurpose experiment, which main goal is to determine the neutrino mass hierarchy after 6 year of data taking. JUNO will also measure some of the neutrino oscillation parameters with high precision. The data taking is expected to start in 2020. The student will contribute to the development of the data acquisition system of the experiment and data processing using FPGA (Field-programmable Gate Array) or GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). The student will be involved as well in the preparation of the data analysis using simulations.
