Development of the data acquisition system for the Large Prototype TPC with GEM detectors

Abstract : A high resolution TPC is the main option for a central tracking detector at the future International Linear Collider (ILC). The MPGD (Micro Pattern Gas Detector) technology has been used to read out a Large Prototype TPC with electronics built for the ALICE experiment and further developed to meet the requirements of the ILC. We propose to a PhD student to work on the DAQ system of a GEM detector. The system will be developed at Brussels on a test bench and bean test will take place at DESY (Hamburg). This PhD can be made in co-supervision with the Center China Normal University (CCNU-Wuhan).
