Modelling, design and control of electrical machines and drives


Abstract : The following topics/tasks can be part of a PhD research project: * study of eddy currents in lamination stacks (by means of the finite element method) and development of homogenization techniques * homogenization techniques for windings (including Litz wire) * multi-physics optimisation of electrical machines (e.g. switched reluctance machines) * fault detection, fault tolerance and sensorless control of electrical machines * co-simulation techniques for electrical machines (field-circuit coupling)
