|Abstract : Manifestation of SuperSymetric particles could be seen at the LHC in the analysis of events containing two same charge leptons in the final state. Such a signature would be enhanced by the production of squarks and gluinos. An important background to this SUSY production is due to processes made of two quarks (or gluons) from each of the initial state protons (double parton scattering) giving e.g. two same charge W bosons.
The PhD student will study the double parton scattering signal in 20125-2016 CMS data.
The PhD student will be integrated in the ULB experimental group on CMS.
Participation to the running of the experiment at CERN is expected.
This PhD can be made in co-supervision with the Chinese University.|
